Missed Conceptions on Darwinism

Charles Darwin did not include "survival of the fittest" in the original version of his theory of evolution.  This was coined by Social Darwinist Herbert Spencer  who wanted to apply Darwin's theories to society as a whole.  Darwin did add it to a later addition, in response to Spencer's use of the term, but that change deviated greatly from Alfred Russell Wallace's origin intent.

Darwin's college degree was in  "General Studies", with an emphasis on Theology.  Darwin was forced to drop out of medical school because he failed to master algebra.  His struggles with basic math bedeviled him all through his career, a fact with he admitted himself.

Alfred Russell Wallace wrote a paper documenting this finding, which Darwin added to his own work, and published it as a joint paper.

The HMS Beagle that was the base for Darwin's Naturalistic research was a British military vessel on an official military mission.

Charles Darwin had an earned degree in Theology, which qualified him to serve as a Chaplain on the HMS Beagle after an earlier Captain committed suicide.

Although Darwin studied it, his correspondence indicates that he had little faith that it was true.
